Miguel Zafon promised a friend he'd go with him to a franchise event back in 2019. His friend was looking for his next venture. Little did Miguel, who owned an IT business at the time, know that it would be the start of something new for himself. He opened Kvik Valencia Sorni at the height of the pandemic in 2020 and opened his second store, Kvik Alfafar, in 2023.

Recently shopped for a new kitchen himself
Miguel had recently bought a new kitchen for his own home, so when he saw the Kvik catalogues and price list, he knew that we really did have surprisingly low prices. He knew that would be appealing to his potential customers.
He liked our overall concept - Danish design at surprisingly low prices. And he was sold on the support that Kvik would give to his business - a beautiful store design, appealing products, digital marketing that meant he would have bookings from day one, weekly shipments that mean he's able to complete his customers' dream kitchens much faster than his competitors.
A man with a plan
Miguel had a lot of experience running a business and despite not knowing much about kitchens, he knew that the key to the success of his new venture would be to find the right people for his team.
Once he had things in place in the store with a strong sales team, he focused his attention on his warehouse. It's where they pre-mount the kitchens and make sure the installation at the customer's home goes smoothly.
It's two different sorts of teams and Miguel knew that both sides of the business had to be in place, so he chose his team with care and shared his vision with them.

2 stores was always the plan
Miguel opened his lovely small store in the heart of the city in the autumn of 2020, but it was always the plan to open a larger store in Alfafar, in the great Valencia area. The small store in the city was meant to be a satellite, but due to the circumstances, it was the first one that opened. And Miguel and his team sold 200+ kitchens a year from the small store during the first year.
The much larger Alfafar store opened in autumn 2023. It features our new, inviting store design, with loads of spaces for more informal conversations, a spacious Design Zone where customers can explore materials and an area where kids can play while their parents talk kitchens.
