Wood kitchen design guide

Wood is nature's building material, and we love wood. That's why we have also integrated this robust building material into several of our elements. You can get worktops in many different types of wood and cabinet doors in ash or oak veneer. Do you dream of a beautiful wooden kitchen at a great price? Read here how you can get more wood into your kitchen without it blowing up your kitchen budget.

A classic carpenter kitchen is made of solid wood. It's a kitchen that is strong and durable, but also very expensive.

We combine the light expression of the designer kitchen with the robustness of the carpenter kitchen. Depending on your budget, you can get some items, like your worktop, in solid wood and cabinet doors with high quality wood veneer. Both variants give an organic expression in a true Danish style.

Worktop in solid wood

One of the elements that has the greatest impact on the overall look of the kitchen is the worktop. It completes your kitchen. Choosing worktop in solid wood can give your kitchen the look and feel of a handmade carpenter kitchen.

A worktop in solid wood has a warm and soft glow compared to kitchen table tops in granite or ceramic. It's also less noisy when you set pots, pans and dishes down on it. Plus, you have the option of sanding the worktop occasionally when it's showing a bit too much wear and tear.

Wood types for any kitchen

All types of wood have their own strengths and benefits. That's why we offer worktops in a variety of different wood sorts. They come in different colours and shades, to give you the look you want. But what they have in common is that they're all easy to care for and maintain.

Organic doors with lots of structure

The doors are the main design feature of the kitchen, and if you dream of a kitchen that has the same natural look as a kitchen in wood, you can choose doors with wood veneer. With doors in wood veneer, you get an organic expression, where the natural grain of the wood becomes the feature element of your kitchen.

Sustainable wood

We use certified sustainable wood, and in 2011 we became one of the first FSC-certified kitchen manufacturers in Denmark.  FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council and is an international non-profit organisation that ensures that tree felling and production take place under conditions that ensure better living conditions for the local population in forest areas around the world. With a wood kitchen that is FSC-certified, you are guaranteed that it has been produced under responsible conditions that contribute to a greener world.
